Official temperatures are from the Bureau of Meteorology via dialling 1196 and checking the current temperature for Viewbank.

- Temperatures are monitored every 15 minutes (1:15pm, 1:30pm, 1:45pm etc).
- If the temperature EXCEEDS 38 degrees (i.e 38.1 or higher) then a text message is sent to all club contacts (see below on how to check who is on your SMS contact list). The text will advise that all play will be suspended (not abandoned).
- The temperature will continued to be monitored, if it falls to 38 or below, another sms will be sent advising that play can re-commence.
- If play is suspended for a continuous one hour block (not accumulative) then play will be abandoned for the day.
- Time lost in regards to over reductions is treated the same as if players are off for inclement weather. That is, reduced by one over for each 3 full minutes for total time lost in excess of 20 minutes.

- No morning match will start if the temperature has reached 32 degrees at 8:00am
- No evening match will start if the temperature has reached 36 degrees at 4:00pm
- If the temperature has reached the above levels at these times then a text message will be sent to all club contacts advising that play for the day will be abandoned.
- Temperatures will be monitored hourly (on the hour) and if the temperature has reached the junior limit of 36 degrees a text message will sent advising that play for the day will be abandoned.

The "50% rule" does not apply on Day 2 of DVCA matches. Therefore if the above heat rule applies to Day 2 of a round, then any result achieved before play is abandoned will stand regardless of other results in that grade.
