Lower Plenty Cricket Club Endorses and Adopts:

Lower Plenty Cricket Club Inc at the Committee Meeting Conducted on 14th September 2022 endorses the Annual  Child Safety and Member Protection Declaration

This includes the legislated  Victorian 11 Child Safe Standards

1) Establish a culturally safe environment in which the diverse and unique identities and experiences of Aboriginal Children and Young People are respected and valued

2) Embed Child Safety and Wellbeing in organisational leadership, governance and culture

3) Empower Children and Young People so that they know their rights, participate in decisions effecting the and are taken seriously

4) Inform and engage families in respect to Child Safety and wellbeing

5) Ensure that Equity and Diversity is upheld through our policies and practices

6) Engage volunteers and officials to ensure that they are suitable to work with Children and Young People

7) Handle complaints and concerns promptly, thoroughly and with a child focused approach

8) Educate volunteers, staff and officials in consultation with Cricket Victoria and Cricket Australia to provide them with the knowledge and skills to keep

                 Children and Young People safe

9) Promote the safety & wellbeing of Children and Young People through physical and online environments

10) Review and improve our child safe policies, procedures and practices regularly

11) Role Model behaviour  and actions documented in policies, procedures and practices guiding how our organisation is safe for Children and Young People

Junior Programs

Lower Plenty Cricket Club is a vibrant Junior cricket club believing firmly that our junior girls and boys are vital to the future of our club. We have two distinct streams of junior cricket to suit all ages and abilities.

Junior Blasters (Formerly Milo In2 Cricket) for 5-8 year old's - Learning basic cricket skills in a fun, structured environment.

Even Mum & Dad can join in the fun!

Our Traditional Junior Cricket program for 9 to 17 year olds.

Our goal is to have kids try to achieve their best in a fun

& safe environment with the emphasis on participation.

Session 1 - LPCC Winter Academy & Mindset Presentation

LPCC 2018/19 Junior Premiers

Junior Blasters is for kids learning the basic skills of cricket with participants building their skills through fun, game based activities. The games are designed for small groups to ensure every child gets a go, allowing them to test and learn new skills. When they have mastered the basics they will be ready to graduate to Master Blasters where they can play modified games of cricket.


For boys and girls learning the basic skills of the game (approx. age 5-8)

Teaches basic cricket skills

Minimum 6 week program

Sessions last up to 60 minutes

All equipment provided

It's safe - we use plastic bats and a rubber ball

Inclusive of children with a disability

Great opportunites for parent involvement

What will your child learn:

Hit a moving ball

Bowl with a straight arm

Throw, pass and catch balls

Track and trap balls

Game sense




Traditional Junior Cricket

We field traditional cricket sides in Under 10's on Wednesday nights and Under 12's, Under 14's, Under 16's & Under 18's on Friday nights. Opportunities & pathways for advancement are provided and mentored through our various cricket development academies, leadership and personal development programs. Our U16's & U18's are integrated into selected senior coaching sessions preparing them for the step up into senior cricket along with the opportunity to play with the senior sides in the lower grades. Father & Son's also get to play together when opportunity arises.

Our facilities are the envy of many a local cricket club ​with the recently built, all weather outdoor training facility, ​complete ​with full run-ups and artificial turf, tak​ing the total number of cricket nets available for training to 8. The latest coaching aids including video analysis along with bowling machine complete the perfect environment for players of all levels to further their cricketing skills.
