About the Lower Plenty Cricket Club

The Lower Plenty Cricket Club ( LPCC ) was formed in the season 1934-35 and reformed in 1953-54 after cessation of hostilities from World War II.

Although steeped in history and cricketing tradition, we are a progressive modern day cricket club with a young senior playing list. Whilst being spiritedly competitive, we are a community minded club fielding a 1st XI side in the DVCA Mash Shield competition along with teams all the way to G Grade. Veterans (> 40 yrs) are also catered for with LPCC generally fielding one side.

With Level One accredited coaches, players are actively encouraged & coached to better their cricket skills. Personal development and leadership mentoring are a big part of the program at LPCC in line with our community ethos. Lower Plenty Cricket Club is a vibrant Junior cricket club believing firmly that our junior girls and boys are vital to the future of our club. We have two distinct streams of junior cricket to suit all ages and abilities.

  • Junior Blaster Cricket for 5-8 year olds - learning basic skills in a fun environment and,
  • Our Traditional Junior Cricket program for 8 to 17 year olds.

At Lower Plenty Cricket Club you will be welcomed into our open and friendly community of like minded people dedicated to the furthering of cricket in our local community. From cricketing first timers through to top level players, junior or senior, you are more than welcome to join the "Lower Plenty Family". All levels of cricketing ability are catered for with four senior and one veteran sides being fielded along with a dedicated junior program.

Social activity and engagement is important at LPCC with several functions, for Seniors and Juniors alike, being held during the cricket season. Most members participate in our Facebook groups (Junior and Senior groups are closed, so submit a request to join). TeamApp and our up-to-date website also keep our members and the public in touch with the latest club news, events and happenings around the club.

The club's recently renovated clubrooms provide for excellent viewing and social activity, with welcoming air-conditioning, sports screens and bar facilities.

Our training facilities are the envy of many local cricket clubs with terrific outdoor training nets, complete with full run-ups and artificial turf, taking the total number of cricket nets available for training to 8. The latest coaching aids including video analysis along with bowling machine complete the perfect environment for players of all levels to further their cricketing skills.

Our licenced club rooms, training facilities and (main) cricket ground are located at Park Lane, Para Road, Montmorency VIC.
